The Administração Nacional das Areas de Conservação (ANAC) was established in 2011 by Decree number 11/2011 of 25 May, under the provisions of paragraph 9, number 1 of Article 4 of Presidential Decree number 12/2008 of 22 October. ANAC’s objective is to manage the National Parks and Reserves, Game Preserves “Coutadas”, the Game Farms and other protected areas legally created, and under the administration of ANAC.
